The Oscars. It’s the biggest night of the year for Fashionistas everywhere! The number one thing on my mind is always “who’s going to wear what?” The movies tend to take a backseat. This year I decided to write about my best & worst dressed picks but I’m not going to lie. I was intimidated to write this! Although I absolutely LOVE fashion, and researching everything related to it, I don’t consider myself any type of “expert!” So I decided to turn to my friends. We formed our own little Fashion Police and spent the whole night going back and forth with our opinions. I highly recommend doing this, it was SO MUCH FUN.
First up is Marie McClary, also known as Fashion Fanatic. This stylish lady has been my co-worker at both Neiman Marcus and Tiffany & Co. She has passion for fashion like no one else. Marie was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan New York and became a lover of fashion while visiting her Mom who worked steps away from Saks, and right next door to the original Gucci flagship store on 5th Avenue. Marie is back to her roots living in the Big Apple and working in the retail world.

Next up is Marcos Villela. I met him while working at Neiman Marcus. I’ve never been more impressed by someone’s knowledge of the Fashion Industry as a whole. Marcos is so passionate when he talks about all things designer. He describes himself as a Mexican boy born and raised right here in San Antonio, TX. Instead of hiding naughty things between his mattress like most teen boys do, Marcos hid Vogue! He’s currently the Akris Brand Ambassador at Saks Fifth Avenue at North Star Mall. This guy even snow tubes in Gucci loafers!!

Most of my fabulous readers already know who Lisa Weller is. She’s the creative director and owner of Twirl Salon, located downtown at the Blue Star Arts Complex, and has been my hairstylist for many years. She lives here in San Antonio when she’s not jet setting around the world working major runway shows and photo shoots for renowned hair stylist Guido Palau. Lisa says she was most excited to watch the Oscars to get hair inspiration for the upcoming local gala and wedding season.Lisa’s Top Picks for Hair are:

BRIE LARSON & OLIVIA WILDE
Lisa’s Overall Best Looks of the Night:
As for me, I took this pretty seriously! I watched the entire E! News Red Carpet Coverage, as well as the pre-Oscars show on ABC. Then of course watched the Academy Awards in their entirety. I took notes, looked on all the major Instagram pages and searched the Web. Here’s what I came up with!
My Best Dressed Looks:
When I saw Rachel Zoe featured the EXACT SAME THREE as her best dressed, after I had already told my friends, I admit I felt pretty proud of my choices!
My Worst Dressed Picks:
Most of the men played it safe this year, but I was really excited about the ones who took a fashion risk. Here’s some our very favorite LEADING MEN.
JACOB TREMBLAY~Littlest Cutie
There were also plenty of HOT COUPLES dressed to the nines on the red carpet. Here’s a few of our faves.
NAOMI WATTS AND LIEV SCHREIBER
CHRISSY TEIGEN AND JOHN LEGEND
LADY GAGA AND TAYLOR KINNEY
EDDIE REDMAYNE AND WIFE HANNAH
Not to be left out, I think these two ladies also deserve a mention.
RUNNER UP FOR BEST DRESSED
RUNNER UP FOR WORST DRESSED
In conclusion, one thing I think we can all agree on. WORST DRESSED OF THE NIGHT goes to Heidi Klum! She’s known for taking quirky, crazy risks and this one did not pay off. This beautiful model should stick to a more figure flattering silhouette!
And it was very hard for me to choose between these two beauties for BEST DRESSED OF THE NIGHT but I have to give it to Cate Blanchett. This amazing actress perfectly exemplifies grace and elegance. She looked like a fairytale up on stage in this seafoam green dress and Tiffany & Co. jewels. She really does embody true Hollywood glamour, just as you should on a night like this!
